The Dell PowerEdge 1955 blade server is a natural follow-up to the previous generation PowerEdge 1855. Engineered with the same architecture as the popular PowerEdge 1950 and 2950 rackmount models, the PowerEdge 1955 blade server allows more computing power in a smaller rack footprint.

The PowerEdge 1955 blade server features up to two (2) Intel Xeon dual or quad-core processors, up to two (2) hot-pluggable 2.5" SAS or SATA hard drives and a maximum of 32GB of memory. The chassis enclosure allows installation of up to ten (10) PowerEdge 1955s to be installed at once taking maximum advantage of your available rack space. The PowerEdge 1955 can even work side-by-side with the older PowerEdge 1855 blade servers in the same enclosure.

The Dell PowerEdge 1955 has built a solid reputation on reliability and versatility, in addition to durability as they are still in use in many data centers where rack space is at a premium. These blades support a wide range of applications like email and print operations, load-balancing and web hosting. Certain configurations can even be used for virtualization.
