Dell PowerEdge R420 Servers

The Dell PowerEdge R420 is a two-socket, 1U rack-mount server offering powerful performance and scalability in a dense form factor.

An excellent fit for compute-intense applications and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads, the PowerEdge R420’s low profile also makes it highly attractive for departmental email, workgroup collaboration and file and print in space-constrained departmental or remote sites of large businesses and public organizations.

Compared to the previous generation of Dell PowerEdge servers, the PowerEdge R420 supports more PCIe slots, PCIe 3.0, more memory and advanced system management.

The PowerEdge R420 features a multitude of configuration options including up to two (2) Intel Xeon E5-2400 or E5-2400 v2 series processors, up to 384GB RAM and the ability to handle up to four (4) 3.5" or eight (8) 2.5" SAS, SATA or SSD drives. It also includes dual Gigabit NIC ports standard, optional dual redundant power supplies and two (2) PCIe 3.0 riser slots.
