The Dell PowerEdge M600 blade server is a modest improvement over the previous generation PowerEdge 1955. Designed to work in Dell's newer M1000e blade chassis, the PowerEdge M600 adds support for the Intel Xeon 5400-series quad-core processors and a faster 1333MHz front-side bus.

The PowerEdge M600 blade server features up to two (2) Intel Xeon dual or quad-core processors, up to two (2) hot-pluggable 2.5" SAS or SATA hard drives and a maximum of 64GB of memory. The chassis enclosure allows installation of up to sixteen (16) half-height PowerEdge M600 blade modules taking maximum advantage of your available rack space. The PowerEdge M600 can even work side-by-side with PowerEdge M605, M805 and M905 in the same enclosure.

The Dell PowerEdge M600 blade and the M1000e enclosure have built a solid reputation on reliability, versatility and durability as they are still in use in many data centers where rack space is at a premium. These blade servers are engineered with virtualizaton in mind and are designed to take full advantage of VMWare.
