The Dell PowerEdge R520 is the successor to Dell's extremely versatile PowerEdge R510 server. Designed with multi-core technology from the ground up, the 2U, two-socket PowerEdge R520 finds its strengths in enterprise-level environments from high-end virtualization to SQL database applications. Building on the dependability and reliability of previous generations, the PowerEdge R520 offers bananced storage capacity, high-end CPU options and up to three times the memory capacity of the PowerEdge R510.

Like previous server generations, the PowerEdge R520 features a multitude of configuration options including up to two (2) Intel Xeon E5-2400 or E5-2400 v2 series processors, up to 384GB RAM and the ability to handle up to eight (8) SAS or SATA hard drives depending on the chassis selected. It also includes dual Gigabit NIC ports standard, optional dual redundant power supplies and four (4) PCI Express 3.0 riser slots. The PowerEdge R520 has the horsepower to handle almost any datacenter task.
