Dell PowerEdge R620 Processors (CPUs) & Heatsinks
Intel Xeon E5-2600 and E5-2600 v2 Series Processors
Like most Dell servers, the PowerEdge R620 has many processors to choose from. The server will hold up to two processors (CPUs).
The Intel Xeon E5-2600 and E5-2600 v2 processor series are the next generation of 64-bit, multi-core enterprise processors built on 32-nanometer process technology.
These processors feature per socket, two Intel QuickPath Interconnect point-to-point links capable of up to 8.0 GT/s, up to 40 lanes of PCI Express 3.0 links capable of 8.0 GT/s, and 4 lanes of DMI2/PCI Express 2.0 interface with a peak transfer rate of 5.0 GT/s. These processors support up to 46 bits of physical address space and 48-bit of virtual address space.
Included in this family of processors is an integrated memory controller (IMC) and integrated I/O (IIO) (such as PCI Express and DMI2) on a single silicon die.
Selective processors in the Intel Xeon E5-2600 and E5-2600 v2 series also support Turbo Mode. Turbo Mode is an OS-controlled operation that automatically allows the processor to run faster than the marked frequency if the processor is operating below power, temperature, and current limits.
When adding a second processor to an existing system, the Intel sSpec number must match the first processor.
Unless otherwise noted, processors and heatsinks have been tested and removed from working servers and are backed by our 90-day parts replacement warranty. We do not sell engineering (ES) or test sample CPUs.
