Dell PowerEdge R520 Riser Boards

The Dell PowerEdge R520 server uses two (2) different riser boards featuring PCIe slots for up to four (4) adapter cards. PCIe connectivity is integrated with the processor in that the number of processors in a system impacts the number of PCIe slots and the bandwidth of each PCIe slot.

  • Riser board #1 features one (1) x16 PCIe 3.0 half-length, half-height slot with x16 bandwidth when two (2) processors are installed. When only one (1) processor is installed, the slot is becomes a PCIe 2.0 x8 connector with x4 bandwidth. The riser also has a PCIe slot for the iDRAC 7 Enterprise card.
  • Riser board #2 has three (3) x16 PCIe 3.0 slots with x8 bandwidth when two (2) processors are installed. One slot is full-length, full-height and two slots are half-length, full-height. When only one (1) processor is installed, the half-length slots feature x8 connectivity with x4 bandwidth.

All riser boards have been tested and pulled from working PowerEdge R520 servers and are backed by our 90-day parts replacement warranty.
